Breaking News: JJ Rawlings Confirmed Dead

Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings has been confirmed dead.

He died at age 73.

He is said to have died Thursday morning at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Sources told this reporter that he fell ill and was rushed to the hospital.

Rawlings buried his mother few weeks ago.

Jerry John Rawlings was born on June 22, 1947.

He was a former military leader and subsequent politician who led Ghana, initially as a military ruler from 1981 to 1992, and then as the democratically-elected President of Ghana until 2001.
