Ike Quartey Adamant Isaac Dogbe Can Clinch More World Titles

Former Ghanaian boxer, Ike Quartey has heaped praises on newly crowned WBO Interim Bantamweight Champion, Isaac Dogboe for his impressive display against Mexican international, Cesar Juarez at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday night.

Dogboe will face Mexican international, Jessie Magdaleno in a mandatory fight after knocking out Cesar Juarez in the 5th of their scheduled 12 round bout to win the WBO Interim Super Bantamweight title.

Quartey, who is also a former WBA Welterweight champion, believes Dogbe can win many more fights with determination and hard work.

“Isaac is good, he did great and I was very impressed with his performance. I believe with hard work, he can go far, in this industry all you need to excel is hard work. Dogbe is great, he can go far”, he said.

Ike Quartey competed from 1988 to 2006. He held the WBA welterweight title from 1994 to 1998 and challenged once for IBF junior-middleweight title in 2000.

Hard-punching Quartey moved up slowly demonstrating power.

Quartey was considered in the top league of the welterweight division alongside great names such as Oscar Delahoya, Pernell Whitaker.

Isaac Dogbe has now won 18 fights without a defeat.
