Baby Jet the humanitarian: Asamoah Gyan Foundation pays for blind man's surgery
The Asamoah Gyan Foundation have been receiving showers of praises and blessings from one Edward Kwasi Owusu, a 62 year old visually impaired man who has been diagnosed with a prostrate problem which makes it difficult for him to urinate.
Allsports.com.gh can exclusively report that Mr. Owusu was at the offices of the foundation powered by the Black Stars captain on Tuesday to receive a cheque of GH¢5,000 (five thousand Ghana Cedis) in the first step towards finally getting a solution to the ailment.
This was in response to a letter by the 62 year old to the foundation seeking help to pay for medical treatment of the problem.
"I thank God very much, I'm using God's blessings to thank Asamoah Gyan and the foundation for this marvelous and benevolent gift. It will be forever appreciated," Mr. Owusu told Asamoah Gyan Foundation CEO, Sammy Anim Addo who made the cheque presentation.
In response, Mr. Anim Addo said giving out to charity like this is just the very reason for which the Asamoah Gyan Foundation was set up, amid revealing that the foundation had already paid out school fees for about eight brilliant but need Senior High School students as well as one tertiary student who are on full time scholarships at the expense of Gyan.
He also disclosed that the Asamoah Gyan Foundation will be ready to foot all bills after the operation to correct the ailment Mr. Owusu is suffering from should the GH¢5,000 not be enough.
"God should bless you and make everything well with you. In life we all know that when God blesses you, you must also bless people. We are delighted we could affect someone's life today," Sammy Anim Addo said.
"We always do a lot of work with the foundation but it's not always that we have to speak about it. This semester we have paid a lot of school fees and we are still paying more," the Asamoah Gyan Foundation chief noted.
He added: "A lot of lives are being touched in positive ways and we'll continue doing so for many people. We are not going to stop." Follow @thedonplato
