Ex-Ghana striker Joetex Frimpong appointed head coach of Swiss lower side FC Niederbipp

Ex-Ghana international Joetex Frimpong has been appointed coach of Swiss lower division side FC Niederbipp.

Frimpong has signed a one-year contract and moves from another Swiss side SC Derendingen, where he landed his first job in Europe after replacing Italian manager Salvatore Terranova.

His first major assignment will be to lead the side in the Swisscom Cup.

“I'm excited with the opportunity to work as head coach in another club after my first experience at Derendingen,” Frimpong told supersport.com.

“I'll always remember the fact that Derendingen gave me a chance to kick-start my coaching profession.

“However, my immediate task is to turnaround FC Niederbipp. I'm satisfied with our pre-season preparation and we are ready to go.”

Frimpong played for Swiss top-flight sides BSC Young Boys, FC Luzern and FC Zurich.
