OFFICIAL: Parma sign Ghana World Cup star Afriyie Acquah on permanent basis
Italian Serie A side Parma have officially signed Afriyie Acquah on a permanent basis from Hoffenheim after a successful loan spell.
A statement on the club's website read: “Parma FC announces that midfielder Afriyie Acquah reamains at Parma. The club has reached an agreement with TSG Hoffenheim. Details will be announced on a later date.”
Reports in Italy say German outfit Hoffenheim accepted a transfer fee worth €2m.
The 22-year-old was sold to Hoffenheim by Palermo in January 2013 for €2.2m, but after six months was sent out on loan to the Stadio Tardini.
Acquah made 27 appearances for the Gialloblu last term and scored one goal to help them secure a Europa League spot.
He was a member of the Ghana squad at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals Brazil.
Acquah made his debut by coming off the bench in their final Group G match against Portugal, which ended a 2-1 defeat.
