CHAN 2014: Zimbabwe knock out Mali
Zimbabwe were the second team to qualify for the semi-final of the African Nations Championship after Nigeria on Saturday. Zimbabwe defeated Mali by two goals to one to progress in the competition being hosted by South Africa.
Simba Sithole scored the opener for Zimbabwe after just eleven minutes of playing, taking the 1-0 lead into the first half break.
Zimbabwe extended their lead to two goals eleven minutes again after the second half began. Mahachi was the goal scorer this time round.
Mali struggled to score one goal which could just serve as a consolation as it came in the 89th minute through Sinayoko. Mali are now eliminated from the competition as Zimbabwe qualify to the semi-final of the 2014 African Nations Cup.
