Edwin Gyimah Called Up To Replace Injured John Boye In Ghana Squad
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has handed a late call-up to SuperSport United midfielder Edwin Gyimah for the impending Brazil 2014 World Cup playoff against Egypt.
A source at SuperSport confirmed to MTNFootball they have received the invitation for the services of the versatile player.
Gyimah, who can also play as a centre-back, has been lined up as a replace for John Boye.
The 22-year-old worked under Appiah at the 2011 All Africa Games where the Black Meteors won a historic gold medal.
The former Wa All Stars player was invited for June's double-header against Sudan and Lesotho but could not join his teammates.
He was voted the club's Player of the Year after the 2012/2013 season from 16 Premier Soccer League matches.
Boye, the Rennes defender, withdrew from Ghana's squad due to injury and set to undergo surgery.
