Razak Brimah backs veteran Richard Kingson

Spain-based goalkeeper Razak Brimah believes veteran Richard Kingson still has the qualities to be a hit on his return to the Ghana team.

There have been lots of reactions after Kingson was recalled to the Black Stars for this month's FIFA World Cup play-off first leg against Egypt in Kumasi.

Kingson returned to active football last month when he signed for Cypriot top-flight side Doxa and has gone on to play in all four matches so far.

Opinions are divided over Kingson return to the team after a two-year absence.

But Brimah, who was not called up for the October 15 match after allowing in three goals in the 3-1 friendly defeat to Japan last month says Richard Kingson has not passed his prime.

"I have been watching the Black Stars for quite some time even before I received my first call up and I must say Richard Kingson is a good goalkeeper and this is football so everything that happens you just have to keep your head up and keep working hard," the CD Guadalajara player told Joy Sports.

"I'm sure he is going to give his best like he was doing those days so I wish him all the best.

"I know Kingson to be a senior and a good goalkeeper who I can learn from in future when we all get a call up."
