National Cycling Train Hits Kumasi As Emmanuel Sackey Wins 3rd Stage Of Race

The National Cycling Competition ended its third stage with Emmanuel Sackey from All Stars taking the first position.

Isaac Sackey from young Stars took the second position when the cyclist travelled a total distance of 145kilometres. He took 2 hours 52 munites to reach the finishing point in an average speed of 37.5kilometres per hour.

This stage of the race is the longest distance the cyclist would travel as far as covering the eight out of the ten Regions in Ghana.

67 cyclists battled it out from the starting point in pellet when few kilometres away from the starting point, Emmanuel Sackey and few others begun attacking the pellet until the final crossing line.

However at the end, Samuel Anim of Young Stars who was leading the race in the first and second stages, could not maintain his position as Isaac Sackey swept the yellow jersey as the best rider by time.

But Samuel Anim managed to sweep two jerseys, the green and the red jerseys respectively representing the best rider by point and the best fighter.

The competition is the 3rd Edition of Cowbell National Cycling Tour sponsored by Promasidor, producers of Cowbell products in association with Pens and Plastics Ghana Limited.

The next stage of the tour, being the fourth stage, will begin from Kumasi to Sunyani where the cyclists remaining in the race will be covering an average distance of 120 kilometres.
