Metro FM Donates Cement …To National Sports Authority
METRO FM, a leading radio station in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, has presented 200 bags of cement to the National Sports Authority (NSA.)
The donation is aimed at helping in the construction of handball and basketball courts at the Baba Yara Stadium, ahead of the National Unity Games slated for July/August this year.
The presentation was made by a Director of Metro FM, Kofi Adu aka 'Agya Koo', an ace movie actor.
Agya Koo said during the colourful function that the presentation forms part of the station's corporate social responsibility, and it is also aimed at making the Unity Games a success.
He said the presentation is not a nine-day wonder, promising that Metro FM would not hesitate to offer more support to the NSA so that the Unity Games would be a huge success.
Agya Koo said Metro FM takes delight in sharing its profit with the masses, stressing that it is always good to go to the aid of bodies and individuals that need help.
Metro FM started operations in Kumasi a few weeks ago but already it is a force to reckon with in the Garden City.
Residents have made the station their preferred choice when it comes to news, sports and entertainment.
Mr. Saka Aquaye, the Ashanti Regional Director of Sports, who received the items, praised Metro FM for their commendable gesture, stressing that the cement would go a long way to make the Unity Games a success.
He appealed to other corporate bodies and well-to-do individuals to emulate the shining example of Metro FM by also coming to the aid of the NSA as they prepare to organize the Unity Games.
The colourful but short event was witnessed by Kotoko's Director of Communication, Listowell Yesu Bukerson and top presenters of Metro FM.
