AFRICA CYCLING CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIPS--2012,BURKINA FASO - GHANA IMPRESSES AT INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL

Ghana today gave a good account of themeslves in the individual time trials held in Burkina Faso which featured 44 cyclists from 22 countries.Samuel Anim registered Ghana on a high pedestal by placing 13th out of 44 cyclists including African Cycling kingpin-Daniel Teklehaimanot from Eritrea.

Ghana has thus become a force in the two wheel sport especially in west africa .The race registered a circiut distance of 31.8km and an average speed of 48.68km/hr.

Earlier,in the Team Time Trial on monday Ghana again showed a good outing with a 13th position with three cyclists-Samuel Anim,Henry Djangmah and Aminu Mohammed clearing thier lines in 59mins 19 secs.

Ghana will clear another hurdle on sunday in a heated roadrace at the Charles de Gaulle arena. Six cyclists--Samuel Anim,Henry Djangmah,William Nartey,Isaac Sackey,Aminu Mohammed and Victor Cudjoe Akpabli will be in action.

The road race will attract 132 cyclists from 22 african countries including Eritrea,Algeria,Morrocco,Egypt,South Africa,Namibia,Burkina Faso,Seychelles,Cote di voire and more.
