GFA Vice President Anagblah passes on
Accra, June 14, GNA -Jordan Anagblah, Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has passed away on Thursday morning after a short illness. He was 55.
The outspoken football administrator who was the Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association ( RFA) died at the Trust Hospital in Accra.
Anagblah who led Ghana to win the 2009 African Youth Championship before conquering the world in global championship in Egypt later in the same year was survived by a wife and four children.
The GFA Vice who was also the Chief Executive Officer of relegated Tudu Mighty Jets, was taken ill while leading the Black Stars in the 2012 African Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in January this year.
Anagblah received treatment in South Africa after returning from the competition where Ghana's search for a nations Cup glory after 30-years ended without success.
The Vice President of the GFA made the headlines after the competition when he vowed to clean up the entire team, citing indiscipline before proclaiming his unwillingness to work with then coach of the Black Stars, Goran Stevanovic.
Credited for playing an instrumental role in the introduction of the Madina Colts Football League, Anagblah played a father figure to many footballers such as Isaac Vorsah, Lee Addy and Ben Acheampong.
Anagblah shocked patrons of Ghana football with his election as the Vice President of the Association, since his candidature never came forward for the position then occupied by Fred Pappoe.
