Samuel Appiah eyes Ghana call

Houston Dynamo midfielder Samuel Appiah has set a short target to earn a call-up into the Ghana national team.

The former AshantiGold academy trainee grabbed the headlines in Major League Soccer after an impressive pre-season where he shone in the nine matches he played in.

The 25-year old was signed by Houston Dynamo after his completing his four-year course at Boston University where he co-captained the institution in the college's Games.

Appiah believes the competitiveness of the Major League Soccer can improve him.

"I believe the MLS has grown into a competitive league and that is offering me the opportunity to blossom. Ghana is blessed with talented midfielders but I believe I have what it takes to pick a spot in the national team,"Appiah said.

Appiah played alongside Black Stars and Zamalek player Rahim Ayew from 2001-2004 at Adisadel College in Cape Coast.
