Black Queens leave for Senegal

A CONTINGENT of 18 players and some officials of the Black Queens are scheduled to leave for Dakar this morning to play their Senegalese counterparts in the final eliminator of the African Women's Championship on Sunday. Departure time for the trip is 9 a.m.

The Queens who have been camping for the past three months at the National Sports College, Winneba are bent on qualifying for the third edition of the championship slated for Nigeria in November.

Speaking to the Graphic in an interview yesterday, the Queens' head coach Oko Aryee, assured that they had prepared enough to qualify for the African championship.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of preparations which he described as quite sufficient to see them through. Among the players who are expected to make the trip include skipper Elizabeth Baidoo, Adjoa Bayor, Basilea Amoah-Tetteh, Mavis Djangmah, Patricia Ofori, Fati Mohammed, Sheila Okine, Yaa Avoe, Rosemary Konadu, Memuna Darku, Florence Oko, Mavis Danso, Aminatu Ibrahim and Gladys Quansah.
