Hearts Fans Call For Board Dissolution
Fans of Accra Hearts of Oak have asked the board of directors of the club to resign by the close of yesterday or face the boot.
The Hearts of Oak Supporters Union is angry with the board for failing to improve structures at the club, especially the acquisition of playing field and club house as well as maintaining an effective and efficient management in place.
They described the performance of the 24-man board in the last four years as below standard and therefore asked them to step down yesterday which was the end of their tenure. The umbrella body has also kicked against the decision of the board members to extend their mandate before congress.
Just recently, there were speculations that the supporters' union has written to the management of the team to step aside for them to take over.
And this fuelled discussions on the dissolution of the board with huge calls for their replacement.
Aziz Haruna Futa, National Chapters Committee Vice-Chairman told Joy News yesterday that the board has failed woefully to perform and therefore called for its quick dissolution for a new generation to take over.
“I will give them 35% because they absolutely did nothing to advance the cause of Hearts of Oak,” Futa claimed.
“They told us so many things but after four solid years, we are still where we are and we think that we can't continue like that.”
