Kotoko register five players for Confed Cup group phase
Asante Kotoko have augmented their squad with five players for the group phase of this year's Caf Confederation Cup.
The list includes three new signings; Frederick Quayson, Hanan Giwah and Micheal Ofosu-Appiah.
Striker Quayson was snapped up from Sekondi Hasaacas and defenders Giwah and Ofosu-Appiah joined from RTU and Heart of Lions respectively.
Also registered are Kojo Poku and Mark Sekyere who played with the team but missed out on the early registration.
This is to bolster the squad with the imminent departure of some players to Europe after the end of the domestic season.
Kotoko are expected to complete their registration to the contingent's football governing body,Caf,by Monday.
The two-time African champions have been drawn in a tough group comprising Sudanese side Al Merreikh, JS Kabylie from Algeria and Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel.
Kotoko begin their campaign in this year's competition with a trip to Sousse to play Champions League holders,Etoile du Sahel, on 15 August.
