Daniel Opare Dreams Big …At Real Madrid
Former AshGold player, Daniel Opare is relishing a huge breakthrough in the Real Madrid team where he currently plies his trade.
The 17-year- old former Black Starlets defender who was transferred from the Obuasi club to Real Madrid immediately after the world under-17 championships in South Korea last year, is hoping to gain promotion into the senior side of the Rosoneri notwithstanding the opposition.
Opare who will turn 18 in October has been a revelation for the reserve side of Real after first playing for the junior side.
He is confident to rub shoulders with star players Sergio Ramos and Pepe for the right full back position when he gains promotion to the first team.
Opare, widely regarded as the best defender at the FIFA U17 World Cup, told some journalists that his main vision is to become a first team member of Real Madrid, arguably the best club in the world.
“I know I am capable of making it big at Real because I have been working hard for it”.
Recognized by World Soccer Magazine as one of the 50 Most Exciting Teenagers on the Planet in their November 2007 Issue, young Opare received rave reviews for using his incredible pace and precision crossing to great effect for the Black Starlets at the 2007 U-17 World Cup.
His form convinced former Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy to include him in his 34-man Black Stars squad for the Nation's Cup in Ghana this year but injury forced the defender out of the competition.
