Real Madrid agree €2m deal for Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei
Spanish giants Real Madrid have agreed a €2m deal to sign Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei from Granada, marking a significant step in the 21-year-old's rapid rise in Spanish football.
Naasei has already completed his medical and is expected to begin his Real Madrid career with Castilla, the club's reserve side, as he works towards breaking into the first team.
The Spanish champions secured the defender's signature despite interest from a German club that had also been pursuing the transfer.
Primarily a centre-back, Naasei is also capable of playing at right-back. He joined Granada's Under-19 side from Ghanaian lower-tier club Emmanuel City in 2023 and has progressed steadily through the club's ranks.
Since arriving in Spain, he has made 71 appearances across all competitions and has featured in both of Granada's La Liga 2 matches this season.
Real Madrid's €2m investment underlines the club's confidence in Naasei's potential, with Castilla expected to provide the platform for his adaptation to the demands of one of the world's most prestigious football clubs.
The move will also allow the Ghanaian to develop alongside some of Spain's brightest young talents, with the long-term aim of earning a place in Real Madrid's senior squad.
