2026/27 Ghana Premier League champions to receive GHC3m prize money - Kurt Okraku
The winner of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League will receive GHC3m in prize money, Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku has confirmed.
Mr Okraku made the announcement while addressing delegates at the GFA’s 32nd Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence in Prampram.
He said each of the 18 Premier League clubs would also receive GHC1m for the upcoming season.
“For the upcoming season, each Ghana Premier League club will receive GHC1m again, and the winner of the Ghana Premier League will take home GHC3m,” Mr Okraku said.
In addition to the cash prize, the league champions will receive a JAC vehicle valued at $33,000.
“The champion will also take home a JAC vehicle valued at $33,000,” he added.
Mr Okraku also disclosed that a total of GHC9.5m would be paid to clubs as part of the financial arrangements for the new campaign.
“A total of GHC9.5m will be paid to clubs,” he said.
The increased prize package comes as the GFA seeks to provide greater financial support and incentives for clubs competing in the domestic top flight.
