Dr. David Kofi Wuaku engages Team Ghana Athletes at Commonwealth Games

The Administrator of the Ghana Sports Fund, Dr. David Kofi Wuaku, has reaffirmed the Fund's commitment to supporting athletes after interacting with members of Team Ghana during the Commonwealth Games.

Among those he engaged were Ghanaian boxers and officials, who shared their experiences, aspirations and the challenges confronting athletes preparing for international competitions.

The interaction provided an opportunity for sports administrators and athletes to discuss practical measures that could strengthen Ghana's sporting ecosystem, particularly through improved funding, athlete welfare and grassroots development.

Officials emphasised the need for stronger institutional support to enable athletes to train consistently and compete at the highest level.

They also advocated closer collaboration between the Ghana Sports Fund, the National Sports Authority and various sporting federations to build sustainable development programmes capable of producing world-class athletes.

The engagement reflects the Ghana Sports Fund's broader vision of supporting athletes from the grassroots to elite competition while creating opportunities for sustained sporting excellence across all recognised disciplines.
