2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup: Nations FC to play FC Diarra in first round of preliminary round
Ghanaian club Nations FC have been drawn against Mali’s FC Diarra in the first preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
The pairing was confirmed during the official draw ceremony held in Cairo on Thursday, as the Ghanaian side prepares for its first-ever appearance in continental competition.
Nations FC will travel to Mali for the first leg of the tie, which is scheduled to take place between 4 and 6 September. The return fixture will be played in Ghana from 11 to 13 September.
The winner of the two-legged encounter will advance to face either AS Zam of Niger or ASKO De Kara of Togo in the next round of the competition.
The Abrankese-based club earned their place in the CAF Confederation Cup after winning the 2025/26 Ghana FA Cup, securing a historic opportunity to represent the country on the African stage.
The upcoming campaign marks Nations FC’s continental debut, with the club aiming to make a strong impression in their first taste of CAF inter-club football.
