2026 World Cup: Each Black Stars Management Committee Member was paid $50,000 - Moses Parker
A member of the Black Stars Management Committee, Moses Armah, has disclosed that each member of the committee received $50,000 for their role during Ghana's successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the team's campaign at the tournament.
The five-member committee was constituted in 2025 ahead of the World Cup qualifiers. Dr Randy Abbey served as Chairman, while former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah was appointed Vice Chairman with responsibility for player relations.
Moses Armah and Samuel Aboabire oversaw operational matters, with Richard Nsenkyire handling special assignments.
During the committee's tenure, Ghana secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and remained unbeaten throughout the 2025 calendar year before eventually exiting the tournament at the Round of 32 stage in North America.
Following the Black Stars' elimination, public debate emerged over the remuneration of officials who served during the World Cup campaign.
Speaking in an interview with Medeama FM, Armah confirmed that members of the Management Committee each received $50,000, explaining that the amount represented half of the appearance fee paid to the players.
“Members of the Black Stars Management Committee received only half of the players' appearance fee, meaning each of us received $50,000. There was no per diem or winning bonus for the committee," Mr Armah said.
The Medeama SC president further disclosed that he donated part of his earnings to pastors who prayed for him and the national team throughout the World Cup campaign.
With the World Cup now behind them, the Black Stars have shifted their focus to qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana has been drawn in Group C alongside Côte d'Ivoire, The Gambia and Somalia as the four-time African champions seek a return to the continental showpiece after failing to qualify for the 2025 AFCON.
