2026 WAFCON: We are going to play against a good Cameroon team - Ghana coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren
Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has acknowledged that Ghana will face a more challenging opponent when they take on Cameroon in their second Group D match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana will battle the Indomitable Lionesses on Sunday at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca, with a place in the knockout stage within reach for the West Africans.
The Black Queens began their campaign with a convincing 2-0 victory over Cape Verde, but Bjorkegren believes Cameroon will provide a much sterner examination due to their experience and quality.
The Swedish coach expects a stronger challenge from the Central Africans, who have been regular contenders on the continental stage.
“I expect Cameroon to be one level up than Cape Verde,” Bjorkegren told the media on Saturday.
“We are going to play against a good Cameroon team with experienced players,” he added.
Kick-off for the crucial Group D encounter is scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
A victory for Ghana would secure their qualification to the quarterfinals of the tournament. Progressing to the semifinals would also guarantee the Black Queens a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
