Benjamin Azamati finishes seventh in Commonwealth Games 100m final
Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati placed seventh in the men's 100m final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Tuesday, missing out on a medal after a spirited performance.
Azamati clocked 10.11 seconds in the final, having secured his place in the medal race as one of the fastest losers from the semifinals.
Cameroon's reigning African champion Emmanuel Eseme stormed to victory, setting a new Commonwealth Games record of 9.83 seconds to win the gold medal.
Australia's Lachlan Kennedy finished second to claim silver, while Nigeria's Kayinsola Ajayi completed the podium with bronze.
Despite missing out on a top-three finish, Azamati's appearance in the final marked another strong showing for Team Ghana at the Games.
