The Timber Club announced the appointment as they begin preparations for the new campaign, with Agyemang replacing Christopher Ennin, who left the role following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
Agyemang joins Samartex from fellow Ghana Premier League side Vision FC, where he established himself as one of the country's promising young coaches.
Widely admired for his tactical intelligence, emphasis on player development, and strong leadership qualities, he arrives with a growing reputation in Ghanaian football.
The experienced tactician earned widespread praise for guiding Vision FC to Premier League survival last season after taking charge during a difficult period.
Under his leadership, the club recovered from a challenging start to secure their top-flight status, highlighting his ability to organise teams and deliver results under pressure.
His arrival marks a new chapter for the former Ghana Premier League champions, who are looking to rebuild and mount a strong challenge in the upcoming campaign.
Known for his disciplined approach, structured class of play, and commitment to improving players, Agyemang is expected to introduce a fresh identity at Samartex during pre-season.
His early appointment will also provide sufficient time to assess the squad, strengthen key areas in the transfer market, and implement his tactical philosophy before the league kicks off.
Samartex will be aiming to make a positive start when the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season begins between September 4 and 7, 2026.
The campaign is expected to conclude on the weekend of May 28–31, 2027, with clubs across the country already intensifying preparations for another highly competitive season.
