WAFU B U-20 draw: Ghana to draw Nigeria, Togo and Burkina Faso in Group B
The Black Satellites of Ghana have been handed a challenging group for the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship after being drawn alongside Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Togo.
The draw was conducted on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the headquarters of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
Ghana's placement in Group B sets up another highly anticipated meeting with regional rivals Nigeria in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the tournament.
The Black Satellites will also face Burkina Faso and Togo as they battle for a place at the next CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
In Group A, hosts Côte d'Ivoire will compete against Benin and Niger, with all three sides aiming to secure qualification from the three-team group.
The WAFU B U-20 Championship will feature all seven member associations of the regional football body, providing another platform for some of West Africa's brightest young talents to showcase their abilities.
The competition carries added significance, as it serves as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. Ghana, which has already been confirmed as hosts of the continental championship, will welcome Africa's best youth teams when the tournament takes place next year.
