Black Queens face Côte d'Ivoire in closed-door friendly ahead of 2026 WAFCON

The Black Queens will continue their preparations for the 2026 TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a friendly match against Côte d'Ivoire on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

The encounter is scheduled to take place at the Stade Père Jégo in Casablanca, Morocco, with kick-off set for 17:00 GMT.

The match will be played behind closed doors as both teams intensify their final preparations for the continental tournament.

For Ghana head coach Kim Lars Björkegren, the friendly presents another important opportunity to evaluate his squad, strengthen team chemistry and fine-tune tactical approaches ahead of the competition.

The Black Queens have already begun an intensive training camp in Morocco and will look to use the fixture to measure their progress against a competitive West African opponent expected to provide a stern test.

Ghana will head into the tournament in Group D, where they have been drawn alongside Cameroon, Mali and Cape Verde.

The Black Queens will be aiming to finish among the top teams in the group and secure a place in the knockout stages as they seek to make a strong impression at the 2026 WAFCON.
