U-17 Women's World Cup Qualifiers: Black Maidens declare readiness for Senegal clash as Joe Nana Adarkwa confirms full squad fitness

Black Maidens head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa says his team is fully prepared for the decisive FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Senegal, with all players available for selection.

Ghana secured a crucial draw in the first leg away from home against Senegal, leaving the qualification tie evenly balanced ahead of the return fixture scheduled for Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Adarkwa admitted that the Black Maidens entered the first leg aiming for an outright victory but had to settle for a draw after facing a determined Senegalese side.

“Our target was to beat Senegal in the first leg, but the game proved difficult, so we settled for a draw," he said.

Despite missing out on a first-leg win, the Ghanaian coach believes the result has given his side a strong platform to complete the job on home soil and secure qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Adarkwa also provided a positive update on the team’s preparations, confirming that there are no injury concerns within the squad ahead of the important encounter.

"No injuries in camp. We are ready to face Senegal this Saturday," he added.

The Black Maidens will be hoping to use home advantage to overcome Senegal and seal their place at the global tournament. The match kicks off at 15:30 GMT, with the winner of the tie earning qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
