World Cup 2026: No second chance ahead of Colombia - Jordan Ayew urges Black Stars to be clinical

Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has called on his teammates to sharpen their finishing as Ghana prepare for a high-stakes knockout tie against Colombia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana booked their place in the Round of 32 after finishing third in Group L, following a 1-0 win over Panama, a goalless draw with England and a 2-1 defeat to Croatia.

Their opponents, Colombia, topped Group K with seven points from three matches and head into the knockout phase unbeaten.

Ayew stressed the importance of focus and efficiency in front of goal as Ghana step into the single-elimination stage.

"I have told the guys that we need to stay focused, do our best, because the next game will be different, no second chance,” he told Flashscore.com after the Croatia defeat.

The fixture will be the first competitive meeting between Ghana and Colombia at any level.

Kick-off is scheduled for 01:30 GMT on Saturday, July 4, with Ghana featuring in the World Cup knockout rounds for the first time since their 2010 quarter-final exit to Uruguay.
