2026 World Cup: Mario Balotelli hails Antoine Semenyo, declares support for Ghana
Former Italy international Mario Balotelli has voiced strong admiration for Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo, praising the attacker’s influence and class of play on the international stage.
Semenyo, who recently joined Manchester City in the January transfer window, has grown into one of Ghana’s key attacking outlets, impressing with his pace, strength and direct approach in the final third.
His performances have carried into the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he has played a central role in Ghana’s run to the Round of 32 and enhanced his reputation as one of the tournament’s standout African performers.
Balotelli, whose parents are Ghanaian, highlighted Semenyo as one of his favourite players in the current Black Stars setup, while also reflecting on Ghana’s football history.
“I love the players. Semenyo, I love the way he plays. I think 2010 was the best team of Ghana,” he said.
The former Manchester City, AC Milan and Inter Milan striker also declared his backing for Ghana at the ongoing tournament, citing his heritage as the basis for his support.
