2026 World Cup: We are focused on Croatia, not looking ahead, says Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo

Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo insists Ghana are fully focused on securing qualification to the knockout stage and are not getting carried away ahead of their decisive Group L clash against Croatia.

The four-time African champions will face the European side on Saturday at the Philadelphia Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 GMT.

A draw or victory will be enough to send Ghana through to the Round of 32 of the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, keeping alive their hopes of reaching the knockout phase for the first time since the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

Speaking at the official pre-match press conference, Semenyo stressed that the team's immediate priority is to get the job done against Croatia before thinking about anything beyond the group stage.

"We are not trying to get ahead of ourselves. The game against Croatia is an important game that solidifies our qualification," the Manchester City forward said.

"I think every player is ambitious, and everyone wants to push and get through to the next round of the competition and see what happens," Semenyo added.

Ghana head into the encounter knowing that a positive result will secure their place in the knockout rounds and mark a significant milestone in their World Cup campaign.
