2026 Word Cup: Carlos Queiroz challenged us to go for win against 'neverous' England - Kwasi Sibo

Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo has disclosed that head coach Carlos Queiroz urged his players to take advantage of a nervous England side and push for victory during their 2026 FIFA World Cup Group L clash.

The Black Stars faced England on Tuesday at Boston Stadium in their second group game of the tournament, with the encounter ending in a goalless draw after a closely contested 90 minutes.

The result leaves both teams level on four points at the top of Group L.

Speaking after the match, Sibo, who plays for Spanish club Real Oviedo, revealed that Queiroz sensed uncertainty in the England camp during the interval and encouraged his players to be more aggressive in the second half.

"At half-time, the coach told us that England were nervous and that we should push for a win," Sibo said after the game.

"And that's what we tried to do, but we are happy with the draw," the midfielder added.

Ghana responded positively after the break, taking the game to the Three Lions and forcing England into a more cautious approach as they sought to protect their position in the group.

With one round of matches remaining, both Ghana and England remain firmly in contention for a place in the knockout stage.

England will conclude their group campaign against Panama on Saturday, while Ghana will face Croatia in a decisive final Group L fixture.
