2026 World Cup: Benjamin Asare, Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams start as Carlos Queiroz confirms starting line up
Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has named his starting XI for Ghana's crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Group L clash against England at the Gillette Stadium in Boston.
With a place in the Round of 32 at stake, Queiroz has made four changes to the side that edged Panama 1-0 in their opening group game.
Thomas Partey returns to the starting lineup after missing the victory over Panama and slots straight into midfield alongside Kwasi Sibo and Caleb Yirenkyi in a 4-3-3 formation.
There is also a first start of the tournament for Inaki Williams, who replaces Ernest Nuamah in attack. The Athletic Bilbao forward joins Antoine Semenyo and captain Jordan Ayew in Ghana's front three.
In goal, Benjamin Asare comes in for Lawrence Ati-Zigi, while Queiroz has retained the same defensive line that kept a clean sheet against Panama. Marvin Senaya, Jonas Adjetey, Jerome Opoku and Gideon Mensah all keep their places in defence.
