2026 World Cup: I'm ready to play - Thomas Partey declares ahead of Ghana v England clash
Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has confirmed he is fit and available for selection ahead of Ghana’s high-profile Group L showdown with England, after sitting out the team’s opening win over Panama.
The midfielder says he is in good condition and eager to return to action as Ghana aims to build on their strong start to the tournament and push for early qualification from the group.
The match is set for Tuesday at Gillette Stadium in Boston.
Partey noted that morale within the camp remains high following the opening victory, with the squad focused on maintaining momentum against one of the competition’s favourites.
While recognising England’s strength across the pitch, he stressed that Ghana are approaching the contest with belief and unity.
"For me, now I feel okay. I'm ready to play," Partey said.
He also highlighted a positive atmosphere in camp, describing a group that is enjoying the World Cup experience while remaining disciplined in preparation and committed to delivering results.
Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 GMT. A positive result would leave Ghana well placed in Group L heading into their final group fixture against their next opponents, scheduled for June 27 in Philadelphia, as they continue their pursuit of a return to the World Cup knockout stages for the first time since 2010.
