2026 World Cup: Sannie Daara urges positive language as Black Stars prepare for opener against Panama
Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has appealed for measured and positive public commentary around the Black Stars as they prepare to begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama.
Ghana, making their fifth appearance at the global tournament, are drawn in Group L and will open their campaign on Wednesday at BMO Field in Toronto.
The Black Stars head into the tournament without a win in their last six preparatory matches, but Sannie Daara insists the narrative around the team could play a key role in shaping their performance.
"Let's be measured with our words about Black Stars and Carlos Queiroz ahead of the Panama game," he told Asempa FM.
"Positive words can inspire the players to beat Panama," Daara added.
The team has already arrived in Toronto and is set to conduct a mandatory training session ahead of the clash.
After their opener against Panama, Ghana will face England at Gillette Stadium on June 23 before wrapping up their Group L campaign against Croatia on June 27, with hopes of reaching the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.
