I cannot be like Abedi Pelé – Jordan Ayew admits

Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew says he has never felt pressure to achieve the same success as his father, Abedi Pelé, or football stars André Ayew and Kwame Ayew.
He says his main goal has always been to become the best version of himself.
The Ghana international, who is preparing to captain the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, spoke about growing up in one of Ghana’s most famous football families and the expectations that came with it.
“I cannot be like Abedi Pelé, André Ayew, or Kwame Ayew, but all I can do is be the best version of myself. I don’t compare myself to my dad,” Jordan said.
