U-17 AFCON: Make the nation proud - GFA boss Kurt Okraku tells Black Starlets

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Okraku has backed the Black Starlets to stay courageous and make the country proud ahead of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ghana will compete at the tournament in Morocco later this month and will play against Algeria, Senegal and South Africa in Group D.

Addressing the playing body before leaving the shores of the country, Mr Okraku urged the players not to be scared of any opposition.

He further charged the players to make the country proud by writing a new chapter.

“Go out there with courage, play with pride, and never be afraid of any opponent, he said.

"Ghana has a rich history in youth football, and it is your time to write the next chapter. Make the nation proud," Mr Okraku added.

Meanwhile, the Black Starlets will play against Mali in a warm-up friendly ahead of the tournament later today at 16:00 GMT.
