13-year-old Abdul Rahman Lokko and two others signed by PKO Boxing
Young juvenile boxer Abdul Rahman Lokko, son of renowned boxing coach Lawrence Carl Lokko, says he feels honoured and motivated after securing a move to PKO Boxing, describing the opportunity as a major step in his budding career.
Filled with confidence and determination, the promising boxer believes the partnership will help him continue his development and move closer to achieving his lifelong dream of becoming a world champion.
PKO Boxing has officially signed three talented fighters from Bronx Boxing Club in Jamestown, Accra — Hamza Abdul Wahab, Abdul Rahman Lokko, and Joseph Commodore — in a move aimed at nurturing and promoting young boxing talents in Ghana.
As part of the collaboration, Lawrence Carl Lokko, founder and CEO of Bronx Boxing Club Ghana, has also agreed in principle to work with PKO Boxing after being appointed Director of Boxing.
Rahman Lokko has steadily built a reputation as one of Ghana’s brightest young boxing prospects. His efforts were rewarded in 2024 when he was named the Besesaka Most Promising Boxer of the Year.
The youngster says the recognition has inspired him to work even harder, knowing greater achievements and rewards lie ahead if he continues to excel.
Growing up around the Bronx Boxing Gym, Rahman developed a passion for the sport from an early age. He regularly watched senior boxers train, compete, and receive recognition for their performances — moments that fueled his own ambitions.
Having started visiting the gym as a toddler, he has remained committed to daily training sessions and continues to sharpen his skills under the guidance of his father and trainers.
“I want to be a world champion,” Rahman often says, a statement that has become the driving force behind his journey in boxing.
PKO Boxing’s support is expected to play a key role in shaping and realizing the young boxer’s dream while also strengthening the relationship between PKO Boxing and Bronx Boxing Club Ghana.
The initiative is seen as a significant boost for grassroots boxing development in Ghana, creating fresh opportunities for young talents to grow and gain exposure on bigger stages.
