Kofi Adams denies $100,000 salary claim for Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz
The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has rejected reports suggesting that newly appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz earns a monthly salary of $100,000.
He insists the figures circulating in the media are inaccurate, stressing that the Portuguese tactician is on a lower remuneration package than what has been widely reported.
Speaking on Asempa FM, the Buem MP said the exact salary details will be made public before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“Carlos Queiroz is being paid less than $100,000; his salary is not up to the $100,000 being quoted out there," he said.
"The actual salary and details will be revealed later, before the World Cup. He was signed on a four-month contract,” Adams added.
Queiroz, who replaced Otto Addo on a short-term deal following Ghana’s inconsistent run in the World Cup qualifiers, was unveiled in Accra last week. The experienced Portuguese coach has since travelled to Europe on a scouting mission as he begins preparations for the tournament.
Ghana will be making their fifth appearance at the World Cup and have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
