The kick-off date for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has officially been confirmed, with the continental showpiece scheduled to run from 19 June to 18 July 2027.

The tournament will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania under the “Pamoja East Africa 2027” initiative, marking a landmark collaboration between the three East African nations.

The confirmation represents a major step in preparations, with organisers and host governments expected to accelerate work on infrastructure, stadium upgrades, and logistical arrangements to ensure a successful staging of the competition.

With the dates now set, teams, fans, and stakeholders across the continent have a clear timeline, further heightening anticipation for one of Africa’s biggest sporting events.

The expanded format is also expected to bring a vibrant mix of football, culture, and regional unity, as East Africa prepares to welcome the continent.

Beyond the pitch, the tournament is projected to deliver significant economic benefits, including a boost in tourism, increased investment, and enhanced global visibility for the host nations.
