I am ready to play against Ghana, says Germany forward Kai Havertz

Germany and Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has declared himself ready for Germany’s upcoming international fixtures against Switzerland and Ghana this March.

The former Chelsea midfielder returns to the national squad after a 16-month absence caused by injuries, now taking on the role of vice-captain for Die Mannschaft.

Speaking to DFB media, Havertz expressed confidence in his fitness ahead of the matches.

"I feel very, very good. The past few months have been a real rollercoaster for me," he told the DFB media.

"You definitely notice it when you've been out for a year and haven't played at all. But I feel fit. I'll need to start a few more games to get back to 100 per cent.

"I feel ready to start games again and to be able to play the full 90 minutes again in the future," he added.

Havertz is set to reunite with his former Arsenal teammate Thomas Partey, who is expected to feature for Ghana on Monday.

Looking ahead to the 2026 World Cup in North America, Germany will compete in Group E alongside Ivory Coast, Ecuador, and Curacao.

Ghana, drawn in Group L, will face 1966 champions England, 2018 finalist Croatia, and Panama.

Before meeting Germany, the Black Stars will take on Austria in Vienna on Friday.
