2026 World Cup: Team must submit final squad of 26 players - FIFA
World football governing body, FIFA, has confirmed that all teams participating in the 2026 World Cup will be required to submit a final squad of 26 players.
The global showpiece is scheduled to be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico this summer.
According to FIFA, the final teams have until May 31 to submit their final squad for the tournament.
The 26-player squad format, which was first expanded for recent tournaments, offers coaches greater flexibility in managing injuries, squad rotation, and tactical options throughout the competition.
For Ghana, Otto Addo and his technical handlers are currently in Vienna preparing for their upcoming friendly games against Austria and Germany.
The games part of the team's assessment of players ahead of the tournament.
After these games, the Black Stars will also engage Mexico in May before the final squad is announced.
The final squad will be tested when they face Wales in their final preparatory game ahead of the World Cup on June 2.
The Black Stars, who are making their fifth appearance at the Mundial, have been drawn alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
