Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer earns late Black Stars call-up after Iñaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante's withdrawals
Hamburger SV attacker Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer has received a late call-up to join the Black Stars for their upcoming international friendlies.
His inclusion follows the withdrawals of Iñaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante, both sidelined after sustaining injuries in recent club fixtures.
Thomas-Asante started for Coventry City in their 3-0 victory over Swansea City but had to be substituted in the 62nd minute due to a knock.
Meanwhile, Williams played the full 90 minutes as Athletic Bilbao defeated Real Betis, though scans later confirmed he picked up an injury, ruling him out of the trip to Vienna.
Königsdörffer, 22, has already joined the squad in Vienna and is set to participate in training today. He has been a key contributor for Hamburg this Bundesliga season, netting four goals across 26 appearances.
Ghana will take on Austria on Friday, March 27, at the Ernst Happel Stadium, before travelling to face Germany in Stuttgart on Monday, March 30.
The Black Stars began camp on Sunday and held their first training session on Monday with 21 players, while Alexander Djiku and Kojo Oppong Peprah are expected to join the squad later today.
