PUMA unveils Black Stars' official jerseys ahead of 2026 World Cup [PHOTOS]
Global sportswear powerhouse PUMA has officially unveiled the Black Stars’ kits for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, presenting a collection that fuses heritage, symbolism and contemporary design at a high-profile launch in New York.
Central to both jerseys is the iconic black star—long regarded as the defining emblem of Ghanaian identity—placed prominently to underline the nation’s enduring football legacy.
The home kit features a crisp white base, elevated by intricate geometric patterns inspired by traditional Ghanaian art and architecture. Accents of red, yellow and green are subtly woven into the design, creating a modern aesthetic that still honours the country’s rich cultural roots.
In contrast, the away jersey adopts a bold golden-yellow palette, a tribute to Ghana’s historic “Gold Coast” identity. The shirt is detailed with embossed patterns reflecting indigenous artistry, giving it a textured, almost regal finish.
Dark green panels along the sides and under the arms add balance, while a red collar ties the design firmly to national colours.
According to PUMA, the kits were created to “celebrate the vibrancy, creativity and resilience of Ghana,” combining storytelling with high-performance innovation.
Both jerseys are built using the brand’s latest fabric technology, designed to deliver breathability and lightweight comfort on the world stage.
The unveiling attracted widespread praise from supporters and former players, many of whom described the designs as a bold step forward—one that respects tradition while embracing a fresh, modern identity.
Ghana, four-time African champions, have been drawn in Group L of the 2026 tournament, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia.
