I have got lot of faith and love for Brandon Thomas-Asante - Coventry manager Frank Lampard
Coventry City FC manager Frank Lampard has expressed strong confidence in Brandon Thomas-Asante after the forward ended his recent goal drought in the English Championship.
The Black Stars attacker found the net as Coventry cruised to a 3–0 victory over Preston North End following his return to the squad earlier in the week.
The result keeps Coventry comfortably at the top of the table, maintaining a six-point cushion over second-placed Middlesbrough FC.
Thomas-Asante had begun the 2025/26 campaign in impressive fashion, but his momentum was disrupted midway through the season due to injuries and a three-match suspension.
Lampard, however, insisted he has never lost belief in the striker.
“That’s scoring goals what he gave us right early in the season, and he’s obviously had his injury and then came back and suspension, so it’s been a bit broken for him since then, but I’ve got a lot of faith and love for Brandon working with him every day," he said after the game.
The former Chelsea FC boss added that the forward’s overall display impressed him as the match progressed.
“It was a good game for him to come into at home here…and I thought he dealt with it well, and getting his goal as the game went on, I liked him more, his power, his reaction always to try and press, and he’s got that power and speed about him," Lampard added.
