Free-agent Andre Ayew joins Dutch side NAC Breda until the end of the season

Dutch side NAC Breda have secured the services of veteran striker André Ayew on a free transfer, signing him until the end of the 2025–26 season, with an option to extend based on his performances.

The 36-year-old joins the Yellow and Black as the club battles to avoid relegation from the Eredivisie, where they currently sit bottom with just 13 points from 17 matches.

NAC’s official statement confirmed the signing, describing Ayew as an experienced forward brought in to strengthen their survival push.

“In the battle for survival in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie, NAC has added André Ayew (36), a new striker to its squad. The experienced French-Ghanaian striker has signed a contract until the end of the current season, with a club option for another season in Breda," the club said in a statement.

Ayew had been unattached since leaving French outfit Le Havre and had been keeping fit training with his father’s former club, Nania FC in Ghana.

The former Black Stars captain boasts a distinguished career across Europe, featuring prominently for Olympique de Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United.

In nearly 600 appearances across Ligue 1, Ligue 2, the Premier League, the Championship, the Turkish Super Lig, and European competitions, Ayew has scored over 160 goals.

Internationally, he has represented Ghana 120 times, netting 24 goals. His wealth of experience is expected to provide a significant boost to NAC Breda as they fight to climb out of the relegation zone.
