Matchday 16 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League delivered a weekend of surprises and emphatic performances across the country.

On Saturday, Medeama SC claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Heart of Lions at the Kpando Sports Stadium. Kingsley Braye’s 20th-minute goal was enough for the Yellow and Mauve side to secure maximum points away from home.
Vision FC also pulled off a shock result at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex, edging FC Samartex 1-0. Setsofia Agetey struck just before halftime to seal the win for the hosts.
Sunday’s fixtures produced plenty of goals and drama. At the AAK II Park, Basake Holy Stars recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Hohoe United, with Prince Tweneboah and Simba Sylvester on target.
Berekum Chelsea staged an impressive comeback at the Golden City Park, rallying from behind to beat Eleven Wonders 3-1. Willian Danquah had given the visitors an early lead in the 15th minute, but Prince Anane equalised for Chelsea just before halftime. The hosts then took control after the break, scoring twice to wrap up the victory.
Defending champions Bibiani GoldStars also came from behind to claim a thrilling 3-2 win over 10-man Dreams FC. Abdul Razak Salifu’s first-half brace had put Dreams in command, but GoldStars mounted a strong second-half response. Barimah Baah pulled one back in the 74th minute before Emmanuel Boateng Agyenim levelled five minutes later. Baah then completed the comeback with a dramatic winner deep into stoppage time.
At the Swedru Sports Stadium, Swedru All Blacks were held to a 1-1 draw by Karela United. After a goalless first half, Ayikabia Solomon Anyork Nereba opened the scoring for the hosts in the 64th minute, but Malik Abubakar equalised shortly after.
Young Apostles and Aduana FC also shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Wenchi Sports Stadium.
The standout result of the weekend came at the Baba Yara Stadium, where Asante Kotoko ran riot in a 6-0 demolition of Bechem United. Morifing Donzo opened the scoring in the ninth minute before captain Samba O’Neil doubled the advantage in the 22nd minute. Donzo completed his brace just before halftime to make it 3-0. After the break, Hubert Gyau, Johnson Owusu and Kwame Opoku added further goals to cap a dominant display.
