Ghana winger Osman Buakri joins Polish club Widzew Lodz until 2030
Ghana international Osman Bukari has taken another significant step in his career, returning to European football with Polish top-flight side Widzew Łódź.
The 27-year-old winger completed a permanent move from Major League Soccer outfit Austin FC, signing a contract that runs until 2030. Bukari was a key figure at Austin FC, making 33 appearances and contributing three goals and five assists.
Bukari began his professional journey with Accra Lions, then spent a season on loan at Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht before moving to Slovak side AS Trencin in 2018.
During his two seasons at Trencin, he netted 16 goals and provided 25 assists across 66 matches, attracting interest from Belgian side Gent, where he spent two seasons in the Jupiler Pro League.
In 2022, Bukari joined Red Star Belgrade following a loan stint at French Ligue 1 club Nantes, where he featured in 24 matches and scored twice.
His most productive period came at Red Star, tallying 25 goals and 20 assists in 78 appearances, including notable Champions League strikes against Manchester City and Young Boys of Switzerland.
After joining Austin FC in 2024, Bukari made 39 appearances in the MLS last season, registering five goals and six assists. His move to Widzew Łódź is expected to bolster the Polish side’s attacking options in the Ekstraklasa.
On the international stage, Bukari has earned 19 caps for Ghana, scoring three times for the four-time African champions. A strong showing in Poland could enhance his chances of making coach Otto Addo’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, the USA, and Mexico.
