Pre-World Cup friendly: Playing against Germany is an amazing opportunity - Ghana coach Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has described Ghana’s upcoming friendly against Germany as a golden opportunity to measure his team’s readiness ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana will travel to Stuttgart to face the 2014 world champions on March 30 as part of their build-up to the global showpiece scheduled for next summer.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Addo welcomed the challenge, noting that the fixture presents a valuable test against elite opposition.

“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world," he said.

"Germany are a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart," the 50-year-old added.

The Black Stars are yet to record a victory against Germany, managing one draw and suffering two defeats in their three previous meetings. Their heaviest loss came in an international friendly on April 14, 1993, when they were thrashed 6-1.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L for the 2026 World Cup, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia.
