'Fit-again' Antoine Semenyo to make injury return against Sunderland - Andoni Iraola hints

AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola says Antoine Semenyo is edging closer to a return from injury and could feature in this weekend’s clash with Sunderland.

The Ghana forward sat out the Cherries’ 2-2 draw with West Ham after rejoining the squad carrying a knock.

Semenyo had earlier missed Ghana’s friendly against South Korea, having been forced off in the preceding match against Japan.

Addressing reporters on Friday, November 28, Iraola revealed that Semenyo has been involved in adapted training sessions and may be cleared to play.

“We still have to train today, but he has been doing modified training with the team the previous days," he said.

“If everything goes well today, I think he is going to be available for tomorrow, yes," the Spanish coach added.

Semenyo has been one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this season, contributing six goals and three assists in 11 Premier League appearances.
